Restaurant Brede Spisehus has a breathtaking view overlooking a small lake in a historic setting only 20 minutes from Copenhagen. Within close proximity you have the opportunity to visit the Open Air museum and should you fancy a stroll before or after dinner - we highly recommend the scenic paths around the lake.
December 1st 1893 marks an important milestone in the history of Brede Spisehus - it was the day the doors opened for the first time. It was considered the eating house and canteen for the local workers in Brede. The National Museum has carefully and gradually restored Spisehuset while ensuring that the original interior decorative design remains intact: The kitchen with its big glass section and the dining room with its ornamental tiles, the opal glass ceiling and the original glass lamps and pillars.
Almost 120 years later, the Restaurant is once again full of life. The food is no longer meant for hard-working factory workers, but still we consider it a priviledge and a challenge to prepare meals that brings joy to our guests.
